Clinical Services

Flowertown Animal Hospital believes in staying technologically current. This is especially true when it comes to veterinary technology that reduces trauma your pet's body undergoes during medical procedures. Our non-invasive technology includes:

Alternative Medicine - We are broadening our capabilities here at Flowertown Animal Hospital by asking two veterinarians, Dr. Amy Hayak and Dr. Bill Ormston, to join our staff. Drs. Hayak and Ormston will provide acupuncture, chiropractic, cold laser therapies, electrostimulation, cellular nutritional counseling, and applied kinesiology, homeopathy, and gait analysis.

Teeth Cleaning Using Only Twilight Sedation - We have devised and perfected a technique for complete dental cleanings using only mild to moderate sedation. At this stage, we have performed over 500 dental cleanings using this technique without encountering any post-sedation side effects or problems.

Wellness Visits - We are believers in wellness visits to identify issues before they become significant threats to the health of our patient and we provide only the necessary vaccines for the patient

Cranial Cruciate Ligament Repair - Cranial cruciate ligament failure is one of the most common causes of lameness in dogs. It can have devastating effects on your pet without treatment. Treatments, generally, involve surgery, either replacing the ligament with a synthetic prosthesis, or applying bone plates to the tibia.

Cytology - Cytology is the retrieval of cells, fluid, blood, pus, and urine for microscopic evaluation.

Dental Services - One of the most important topics for pet care is taking care of the teeth and gums. Recent studies continue to show that oral disease (gingivitis, periodontitis, infected gums, bone loss) can lead to significant cardiac disease and renal disease.

Ultrasonography - Many of us are familiar with ultrasound due to its popularity and importance in obstetrics in human medicine. However, what most people don't know is that the use of ultrasound is one of the most important "second generation" imaging modalities in veterinary medicine today.

Video Otoscopy - Video otoscopy has deepened our understanding of ear disease with food-related allergies. We are now able to show the client their pet's chronic ear disease and the likely causes come from over stimulation of the wax glands due to allergies. This over secretion of wax leads to secondary yeast and bacterial infections.
