Our People

Dr. Jerry Dorsam

Dr. Dorsam is approaching his thirty year anniversary as a veterinarian, graduating from Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1978. He spent nearly twenty years in western N.C. in his own equine-small animal practice. He and his family moved to the Charleston area in 2001. Dr. Dorsam purchased Flowertown Animal Hospital in 2006. He is married to his love-of-his-life, Kathy, and, between them, they have four grown children. His interests, besides his obsession with clinical medicine, include any activity involving the out-of-doors (kayaking, fly fishing, mountain biking). He is also actively involved in clinical research, what he refers to as a "volunteer observationist."

Robin Powell

Robin Powell

Robin has been involved in veterinary medicine for seven years having worked as a technician for a small animal practice in the Summerville area prior to joining Flowertown Animal Hospital in 2006. She is married to Glenn and they have two young children, Kylie and Logan. Robin has a passion for Dachshund dogs, having four. She really likes her job and enjoys her special role of surgical nurse during the more involved procedures. Robin and Glenn pass their spare time, when not chasing the children, by riding Glenn's Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Ask her about her geese.

Holly Daniels

Holly Daniels

Holly has been a veterinary technician and assistant for five years. She joined FAH in 2006, like Robin. She is married to Jason and has two babies, Xander and Owen. Holly is as obsessed with pets as Robin is, having two dogs and six cats. It's hard for her to turn away from a homeless dog or cat. In her free time, she loves to spend time with her husband and her children. She loves to bake, listen to good music, and enjoy good movies and books. Holly's role at FAH involves in-hospital patient care and diagnostic endoscopy.

She loves to cook, bake, and is completely obsessed with cleaning. Lisa attended Trident Technical College graduating with a bachelor's degree in veterinary technology. She is FAH's dental hygienist, performing most of the dental procedures. Her favorite thing since the changeover in ownership is the lab and X-ray equipment, making her job a lot easier. Lisa tends to be the mother hen of the group, keeping the young girls in line.

Shari Hamilton

Shari Hamilton

Shari has worked at Flowertown Animal Hospital since May 1996, working with the previous owner, and Lisa. She is married to Bo and they have one grown daughter and two granddaughters. She loves all of the sloppy puppy/dog kisses and kitty cat purrs from the patients that we see. Shari has two cats, Cricket, who adopted Shari thirteen years ago with her four kittens and Cindy, one of Cricket's kittens. Bo's better half loves to cook (with the help of television food networks for new ideas), bake, and spend time with her husband working in their flower garden. Shari is Flowertown's main client services coordinator, sometimes veterinary assistant, and our "Mrs. Bob, the Builder." Shari can fix almost anything.
